Lava is molten rock expelled by a volcano, and solidifies after cooling. Lava beads are also known as basalt which was once formed from molten lava, so you can imagine the power, strength and fire contained within basalt! It's a stone of strength and courage, so if you're feeling nervous, don't be! Lava unites the energy of fire and earth. It enhances willpower, gives courage and strengthens. It allows one the opportunity for stability throughout changes in their lives. Basalt helps inspire dream work, enhances creativity, communication, and cleanses negativity. Since basalt was once molten lava, it has the power of fire within.

These necklaces and bracelets are made using authentic lava beads from Guatemala which are made from basalt, a lightweight and porous material that’s created during a volcanic eruption. Their interesting texture—due to the holes and bubbles created by the explosive eruption—makes these beads perfect for creating pieces of jewelry like bracelets and necklaces. Lava beads were first worn in jewelry form by Italians in the 19th century from lava from the volcano Vesuvius.
