Malaika is a girl’s name from Zambia meaning "Angel". We named this collection Malaika because of the feathers like angels' wings.

Dsenyo is in partnership with Mulberry Mongoose, an artisan initiative in South Luangwa Valley, in rural Zambia neighboring their Malawian partners. These artisans craft jewelry inspired by the African bush, its rich and diverse flora and fauna. They use locally and ethically sourced materials, such as guinea fowl feather, freshwater pearl, wooden debris, tagua and snare wires. Mulberry Mongoose is committed to giving back to the community and supporting conservation efforts.
